Samos completes successful diverless UWILD programme

Singapore — Samos has successfully completed Asia’s first diverless UWILD programme on its West Desaru MOPU offshore Malaysia, using deck-launched robotic inspection technology and eliminating the need for divers or a dedicated inspection vessel.
 
The campaign was delivered by EM&I, in collaboration with TSC Subsea, and involved the successful inspection of 70 structural locations across the MOPU at water depths of up to 75 metres, in accordance with the requirements of ABS as the vessel’s classification society.
 
We believe this represents the first application of its kind in Asia. The programme was completed successfully and cost-effectively, while also reducing execution risk and improving personnel safety.
